Challenge
The main challenge here was working in close quarters with several other trades and the project had a very tight timeline.
Solution
Oakwood Contractors was hired by Berglund Construction to work at the Northwestern Medical Health Center adjacent to the main hospital in downtown Chicago. They expanded their ambulatory surgical services to include 8 operating rooms, 27 bays, public waiting areas and conference areas. Oakwood was hired to install wall protection, partitions, doors, frames hardware and millwork installation.
Result
In the end the facility was completed on time and the GC and customer were completely satisfied with the work. Oakwood has been invited to bid on other similar projects that Berglund may perform for Northwestern hospital and hopes that Oakwood will be able to work with them again.
